April 19, 2008 regular monthly meeting
Members this is a narrative of our meeting
The lodge was opened in due form at 8am
The lodge voted on and approved the following members to represent the local at the 2008 Grand Lodge Convention in Orlando Florida September 8th thru the 12, Brothers Wayne Kellough, David Lugar, Steve (Trigger) Dunn and JD Almond, the lodge voted and approved the following members to go the AFL-CIO Labor school June 23 thru 27, 2008 Brothers Wayne Kellough, Alan Barbee and Steve Kennington, currently there is an opening to send one more person to this school please see President Wiggins for consideration.
Also on the agenda the lodge voted and approved the purchase of calendars and pocket pals along with electrical Ugly’s reference book to be given out at Christmas for the 2009 calendar year. The lodge voted to allocate the funds for an upcoming arbitration that was posted on the bulletin board, The lodge also took action to take some items to the North Carolina Machinist Council April 24 thru 27 2008, to raffle off for MNPL education for our members, The two jackets that were raffled off for MNPL education were won by brothers Alan Barbee and David Lugar, announcements of committees took place at this meeting. A posting of these committees will be available on the bulletin boards in May 2008.
The two By-Laws proposals were read and voted it on , one was passed, to find out exactly what passed and what was voted down please see a member of the executive board. There are two retirees that have become regulars at our meeting, as always David Harmon Esquivel who is always at our meeting and Palmer Cook, IAMAW retirees are welcomed and encourage to come to our meetings as well as all of our members to take part in the running of the local.
